Refer-A-Friend Program- Official Rules

Please read these terms and conditions (the “Agreement”; the “Terms and Conditions”) carefully before participating in the Common Cents Credit Union Refer-A-Friend New Member Program (“Program”).


ELIGIBILITY. The person referring (“Member”) must have a Common Cents Credit Union (CCCU) Savings and Checking account and complete the form with all required information. Member is defined as the primary member on their CCCU account. All of the Member’s CCCU accounts must be in good standing to be eligible for participation in the Program. If Member should cease to be a CCCU member or fall out of good standing before reward(s) is/are paid, the Member will not be eligible to receive reward(s). Member shall not be a joint owner on

Referral’s accounts. Program is not valid in combination with any other offer, or for employees of Common Cents Credit Union, its affiliates and their families.

 The person being referred (“Referral”) must meet the following criteria to qualify for participation in the Program:

  1. Be a NEW member to Common Cents Credit Union.
  2. Must open own individual CCCU Savings and Checking accounts and not merely be

added as a Joint Member on a member’s account.

  1. Meet all criteria needed to open a CCCU Savings Account and CCCU Checking Account.
  2. Set up a Direct Deposit into CCCU Checking Account within 15 calendar days of account opening.
  3. Present referral form to Common Cents Credit Union staff member at the time of account opening (in-person); or, email (subject: Refer a Friend) the completed referral form to CCCU ( within seven (7) calendar days of online account opening. Date on form and account opening date shall not exceed a time span of 30 days.
  4. Maintain all CCCU accounts in good standing through the time of reward distribution.

 The Refer-A-Friend Program form is available at any Common Cents Credit Union location or online at  

REFERRAL PROGRAM REWARDS: Referral’s accounts are reviewed after first 90 days of CCCU membership. After 90 days, the Referral’s account is reviewed to ensure Program reward eligibility. Within thirty (30) days of account eligibility review, if Member and Referral have met all criteria, Member and Referral are awarded a credit valued at $25.00 USD to their respective Savings account. The reward will be deposited into the member’s Savings account for each qualified Referral that meets the conditions listed above. There is a limit of ten (10) eligible referrals and $250.00 USD in referral rewards per Member per calendar year. If all conditions are met only one reward will be issued for each Referral based on the name of the Member on the referral form (in case multiple referral forms are submitted, the one with the earliest date will be rewarded).

 In order for Member and Referral to receive reward, both Member and Referral must remain members of Common Cents Credit Union and all of their respective accounts must remain in good standing through the time of distribution.

 Two (2) business days after account opening, the “Referral” becomes eligible to refer other individuals for the Program. In this case, the “Referral” would become known as the “Member” and the person being referred would be known as “Referral”. Above rules and limitations remain applicable and relevant to the Program and its process.

 Any questions or claims regarding unpaid rewards must be submitted to Common Cents Credit Union; Attention: Marketing, in writing within 120 days of Referral’s account opening.

 REWARD CONDITIONS: No transfer of any reward is permitted, except at the sole discretion of of CCCU. No substitution of reward will be permitted. Taxes, if any, are the responsibility of the individuals receiving the reward (winner); a Miscellaneous Form 1099 will be issued as required by law. Common Cents Credit Union will not be responsible for any act of God, acts of terrorism, civil disturbances, work stoppage, force majeure or other event, condition, or occurrence outside the control of Common Cents Credit Union that may cause the delay or failure to deliver any part of the reward or entire reward.

 PROGRAM LIMITATIONS: The Program and participation therein are offered at sole discretion of Common Cents Credit Union, and CCCU has the right to change the respective Program Terms and Conditions, in whole or in part, or to discontinue the Program, at any time without notice or liability to Members. CCCU reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the referral process or the operation of the Program to be acting in violation of any of these Official Rules. CCCU’s failure to enforce any term of these

Official Rules will not constitute a waiver of this provision. All Parties are subject to verification and compliance with these Official Rules.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY: Except where prohibited, all participants agree to release and hold Common Cents Credit Union and its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, independent contractors and all other associated with the development and execution of this program (the “Released Parties”) harmless from any and all liability with respect to, or in any way arising from, or in connection with: a) his/her participation in this program and/or the acceptance, possession, or use of any reward that may be awarded to him/her, including but not limited to, liability for personal, bodily injury, death, damages or loss of any kind; b) unauthorized human intervention in the program; c) technical errors, programming errors, transmission defaults or interruptions related to computers, mobile phones, software, servers, or telephone or network lines; d) computer server or telephone service failure and/or delayed, garbled or corrupted data transmitted by participants; e) sending, printing or typographical errors; f) error in the administration of the program or the procession of referrals; or g) late, lost or undeliverable mail or e-mail. The Released Parties are not responsible for i) incomplete, lost, illegible, late or stolen or misdirected referrals and ii) technical, hardware, software, or telephone/internet malfunctions of any kind, transmission defaults, corrupted data, hardware or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, garbled data, or by any human or other errors that may occur in connection with the program, as applicable.

DISPUTES: Concerns regarding the Program should be addressed, in writing, to: Common Cents Credit Union, Attention: Marketing; P.O. Box 20396, Beaumont, Texas 77720, or dropped off to any Common Cents Credit Union location within 120 calendar days of Referral’s account opening.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: Program is not valid in combination with any other offer, or for employees, board or volunteers of Common Cents Credit Union, its affiliates and their immediate/household families. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between the Official Rules and any promotional materials, the Official Rules will prevail. The program will begin January 1, 2022, at 12:01 a.m. CST and end December 31, 2022, at 11:59 p.m. CST.

SPONSOR: The sponsor/host of the program is Common Cents Credit Union. The credit union is federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).
